Sketch It

Tell me the story of your hat. It is hard to communicate a visual idea through e-mail, so I will need as much information as possible. Make sketches, gather up the pics that inspired your design, and use my Witch Hats Buyer's Guide.

Describe It

Your description of the design is key! The more detailed the better! When I build a custom shaped hat I start with a 2D concept drawing. In the end your custom hat will become a real life interpretation of that concept drawing.

Impossible?

This doesn't happen often, but sometimes people ask for what is impossible. As a result I don't accept every custom hat request that I receive, but I'm still curious about new ideas and concepts and it never hurts to ask!

Color Order

The order of the colors you want is important. Two colors next to each other will blend in the dying process. So avoid colors that will make an ugly color when mixed.

Colorways

A colorway is the combination of colors that will make-up the custom colors of your hat. This can be a gradient of one color going from dark to light or a gradient of colors.

No Go Colors

Certain colors can not be achieved. Colors like metallic gold, silver, or bronze. See this list of 94 colors when trying to decide what colors you want your hat to be.
